You can give carrots but please do not turn his/her foods into vegan diet.  It's very cruel to deprive dogs of meat despite what the vegans out there preached.  Vegan diets are  very unnatural for dogs although some vets voted for and some agsinst the vegan diet.

WHAT CAN I COOK FOR MY DOGS?

Dogs can produce their own Vitamin C.  Please do not feed dogs with any supplemental Vitamin C (ascorbic acid, sodium ascorbate, calcium ascorbate or ascorbsl palmitate) because excessive Vitamin C can cause kidney and liver damage.

Potatoes are considered by some pet food manufacturers as common allergenics to dogs. Sweet potatoes is a better choice.  Also dogs made their own Vitamin C.  Some pet food manufacturers don't provide fruits as these are rich in simple sugars such as fructose which should not be mixed with meat proteins along with stomach acid.

CAN DOGS HAVE HAM?

Most commercial dry dog foods are not appropriate diets for dogs. Most are providing controvrrsial ingredients including premix vitamins/minerals (mainly from China).  These are synthetics and not naturally derived from whole foods.  Between raw and cooked, we prefer cooked foods via oven-baked and definitely not through extrusion. The best form of cooking is through Hydrostatic High Pressure (HHP)  but this company uses controversial ingredients and the cooking method is pending patent by them.  Notably they use proteinates which are also synthetics that ultimately can result to MSG which is harmful to dogs in the long term.  There are only a few commercial dog foods on the market not using synthetics of any kind.

MAKE YOUR OWN HERBAL FLEA COLLAR.

Choose an absorbent collar for your dog such as the widely available heavy duty woven nylon collars. The collar will absorb essential oils; no additional collar is needed. Essential oils that repel fleas and ticks include citronella, rosemary and rose geranium. Buy only 100% pure essential oils and using an eyedropper, put just one or two drops on the collar.

Repeat each week. Some animals are very sensitive to the strong smell of essential oils, so start with just one drop and increase to two if they seem to tolerate the smell. If ticks are the biggest problem, use rose geranium, for fleas choose citronella if for a dog, but not for cats.

Make sure not to get the essential oil in the dog's eyes or directly on their skin
